Looks like the USCIS had been busy with the citizenship applications before the Nov elections and hence it has been slow approving I-140's and GC's. Now that it is coming to an end we might see our applications moving forward. Maybe from Nov onwards it would be better.

am waiting for a GC here in America, I always think India is a fabulous
country. There are merits, de merits in every country. But it is people like you who always look at the negative side (according to you that is ) of India and think US has absolutely no negatives that create the wrong perception about India in peoples minds.
Your negativity stems from your low self esteem and lack of self confidence.
Blame your country/system for everything and try to find an escape elsewhere. If you are capable chances are you will succeed any where (Including in India) like many people have.....

truthinspector never mentioned that the US has NO NEGATIVES........... purely stated why India is still not and (I am not sure about the 500 years - seems like an arbitrary number) will not in the near future, be a developed country and presented his/her reasons for the hypothesis..........

Trust me, after waiting at PBEC for almost 2 years,I know what BEC is. I was just saying that a person who got LC certified in 2004 didn't have to go thru BEC. They started transferring cases at the beginning of 2005.

My app was received at the NSC on June 28th at 9:02am. I havent receviced receipts or checks cashed. If for some reason my app is denied or there is a request for evidence after the 17th of Aug are we able to resubmit or will it be too late?

I came here at an old age compared to most of you on this forum. Now I have two kids in college and a third one waiting to enter next year. This is my sixth year here and I have no immediate plan of returning to my home country.
Having a GC will ease the financial burden of seeing my kids through college. Thereafter, we plan on starting a family business that will export technology to my home country (all my sons are studying computer engineering) where opportunities are increasingly available for such ventures.
My wife and I plan to retire and go back home (by which time I hope we would be US citizens). Towards that end we are building our retirement home in Nigeria. As for my sons, I have given up hope that they will ever return to Nigeria to live!
I have two brothers who are already US citizens and have filed for our parents so I don't miss being with my parents as they come and go as they wish.
So to me, the value of the GC will be to eventually get US citizenship, retire and be able to get my social security and medicare and finally go back home with the ability to visit my kids and grand kids in the future.

I think you are unnecessarily suspecting her posting. Retrogression kicked in Oct 2005 bulletin. So it is possible for her to apply in Feb 2005. I know for sure some people got their GC with similar priority dates. I think this whole immigration crap is turning everyone into cynical.

First of all I am really sorry for all this happening to you. Unfortunately, this is happening more and more since the anti-dowry laws have been made which are so ridiculous. Females get the credit of being innocence from our society even if they are not. The prime objective is to attract media attention, in other words "give them something to talk about". What flower campaing did last year was exactly that...Can we achieve the same thing with Book or Calculators or Clock or Poster, we need to figure that out!
I agree that calculator /flower campaign can fail. But poster (actually pamphlet) and letter campaign will cost only 41 cents stamp from us.

how come you joined the company in 11/2010 and applied on 12/22/2010 ? my lawyer is in the 3rd week and finalizing job description. she says advertising takes 30 days, pwd takes 6 weeks, etc etc, and that it cannot be approved without atleast 90 days of prepwork.

Thanks for the information. Bills come and go every year, hard to count how many we have seen go up in the air in the last 3 years.
We are talking about HR 5882,5921 and 6039. Very few people are working very hard to take all of us a step ahead with the GC process and we have lots of hope and we also have direction. Please check with your state chapter lead for latest updates.

The news about these amendments really lightened up our suffering retrogressed souls.
But its really unfortunate to know that President Bush is gonna veto the bill altogether.
