Any one got a chance to look at the statistics of BECS, I read only 33% of the applications are certified so far . I think its a good thing ..

If the donor based thing is ON, the future of IV is not good.
Yeah, IV does good work by talking to people all around, from different stratas of lawmaking and what not.
but get real, look around guys, information is everywhere, not only here. and you are working for the greater good of the community, only donors are not going to be benefitting from this.

This is aboslutly not possible; he/she is trying to fool every one. Before retrogression, the last date to file a 485 for a EB3-Indian with PD 08/2004 was 12/31/2004. From Jan 2005 till July 2007 EB3 Inida was retrogressed for his PD. So he/she could not apply 485 in Feb 2005. The other optins could be he/she may be in EB2 catagory or a Schulde A nurse.
I was in similar time frame; So I know the date well....

What is the visa or immigration status of a person who has H4 visa and 485 pending (has EAD also)?
It seems banks do not understand anything other than Citizenship, GC or H status.
(1)EAD is NOT a status. Your status should be AOS, or H1B, L1, TN or whatever.
(2) I personally know more than a dozen people (including myself) who hgot mortgages, and this was not even an issue.
(3) You have a horse's ass for a lender. Just go to another bank. Countrywide is quite good, in my opinion. Go directly to them, not through a broker.

I think you bring up very valid points. For a lot of ppl who have stayed away from family/extended family for so long, they may not like the constant interference.
"I miss my parents" is not quantifiable but what about the paying back the debt by supporting your aging parents? Let me make the question a little broader, isn't every immigrant divided between doing what's best for the children and supporting the parents?
yes they are indeed. I took care of this as my sisters and parents have immigrated to New Zealand, work and live happily there and will be covered by a great social security system.
also, they do not need a visa to visit me after they get their citizenship (in the next year or so) and I will not need one to visit them after I get mine in the next decade or so.......... :-))
as for what is best, we should all ask our parents and they would say do whats best for your kid because that is what they did. they did their best for us and we should do the best for our kids as they should do their best for theirs........

Which means that EAD is much safer than H1b. Then why are Attorneys insisting on the opposite (H1b against EAD?)

I think they prefer for us to be on H1 rather than on EAD because its easy to travel in & out of the country if you are on H1. If you use EAD then one has to use travel doucments which technically is to be used in an emergency. This is just my opinion!!

May be yes....applying greencard is required to extend the H1...having said that one has to spend huge money in applying for GC...at the same time one can also stay out of US for an year and come back if required...
well the reasons are many...and all seems to be valid...
I agree having 1 crore is sort of middle class..especially with the real estate boom in Hyderabad..you won't get a two bedroom flat in a decent area unless you pay around 20 lakhs...
on a lighter note...1 crore is just simple....for the people over there...for example my father retired in early 2004 and spent his retirement money to buy a two bedroom apartment and a small piece of land (about 10 lakhs in total)...now the apartment itself costs about 11 lakhs and land costs about another 14 lakhs.........earning/saving of about 15 lakhs in 3 years....how many of us could do that ;)
when i came to US at first i thought i would go back to india if i have 1 crore, but when time goes by, i came to know that now a days in india people who have 1 Crore are considered as Middle Class,

At least I won't give u red dots if you can enlighten us how to get us out of this mess. And yes, we do want our green card so I don't think we can stop the process or stop spending money on that. Also please advise us how to bring all 70K people under one umbrella?

Enough of this Gandhiian ways. This country is not good for people like Gandhi. May be Flower campaign got noticed and created a whole new experience for the USCIS, but i dont think it really helped them do anything in our favor. Already, folks here are wasting their money, year after year, on their EADs and APs for them and their family. Just think for a second guys, It costs us 1000 $ to maintain status on AOS and visit our family and this is going on indefinitely for our years now. USCIS/Congress does not want to do anything about this, They are happy to get the revenue. Even if you think a minimum of 200,000 people spending 1000 $ an year, it is 200,000,000 $. Iam not even considering the amount they spent on other things like H1B extension, H4s..... Just think about the Dollars they are making on this Green Card SCAM. Accept it or not, it is indirectly affecting our lives, even though, GC is not really important for lot of folks. Iam one such person, I have a good client and a decent employer and iam with the same folks for 9 years and they are happy extending my H1b at their cost. But still, this whole GC game, is sometimes disturbing. They are playing with our emotions and our loved ones. So, GUYS we need to take a bigger and bolder step. To me, Calling people, sending flowers and letters explaining the situation makes no sense. Do you think, those guys dont really know about our situation. Let us a make a bold move. We are 70,000 folks just here in ImmigrationVoice. Let us compile a letter,that pushes USCIS/Congress on improving the condition. As long as they get those EXTRA Dollars, i dont think anything is going to happen. Even if they remove the provision to apply for GC while on H1B, it is good for us, for we will know that in advance and can plan on shaping our future better, instead of this false promise and emotional torture. I think even AILA or other Lawyers are useless. They dont want to do anything for us. All they do is, interpret the LAW , and explain us in the way we can understand. They dont take steps to fight for the justice. All they care is the money. So let us make our point clear to USCIS, we dont want to waste money on EADs and APs and H1B extensions. To me, it should be free of cost, since it is their problem that they dont work efficiently. Why should we pay 1000s of dollars for their inefficiency. let us all 70,000 work together in sending a letter to USCIS or Congress that We are not willing to spend any more money on the GC knowing that we are not going to get it anyway.
